I cried on the way to Liana + Adrian’s wedding.  It was a unique experience for me – something that had never happened before.  They hadn’t planned for inclement weather.  There was no plan b, really.  Everything was planned outside. The very success of the wedding hinged on some semblance of a sunny day.  And when I woke up that morning it the most perfect day.  I was so overwhelmed with excitement for them, it spilled down my cheek.

Liana + Adrian are the kind of people  that pull you in with all four arms and make you feel like you’ve been a part of their lives forever.  They love each other so intensely you can feel your heart beat faster just being around them.  It’s incredible.  And it was no surprise their friends and family were just as warm and welcoming and wonderful.

Every part of their wedding was carefully curated and lovingly constructed to reflect their personalities and relationship.  Adrian and his friends brewed two custom wedding beers named “Hopilly Ever After” and “Man and Weiss,” their mothers collaborated to make the huppah, their best man also served as their DJ.

We are very lucky to do what we do.  Strangers invite us into their lives on the most intimate day and give us full access to their whole world.   For that we are so humbled and so grateful.  Our lives are forever changed by the people we meet and the moments we get to witness.

Advice to future couples from Liana + Adrian //

Every couple is a unique combination of personalities and experiences, and your wedding is your opportunity to celebrate your story and share it with everyone you love. Since no couple is alike, no wedding should be alike.   For example, we created and named our sandwiches after the cities we have lived together. Adrian is a writer/teacher so we used antique books as decor, and I studied music and used to work at a jazz club, so there were various nods to the jazz era through music and decor. Our vergidree color scheme was inspired by the colors of rooftops in Paris, where Adrian visited me for a weekend in 2005. You get the idea..
Most importantly, try not to get overwhelmed by all of the details and just have fun! Get your friends and family involved in the process and delegate when there is too much on your plate. Be yourself and enjoy every moment of it!
